Hans Escher
Austrian 1918-
Hans Escher was born in 1918 in Vienna. From 1935 he studied at the Academie des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Charles Guerin. In the beginning of the war he was interned in France serving in Algeria during 1940-42 and became a corporal of the British army for the years 1943-45. After the war in 1946 he moved back to Vienna and continued his art studies at the Vienna School of Applied Arts. He was member of the Viennese "Secession" movement and became one of the best graphic artists in Austria.
