KUROSAKI, Akira
AKIRA KUROSAKI Japanese 1937- Born in 1937 in Dalian, Manchuria. Became interested in traditional wood block artists of the Ukiyo-e. Kurosaki began making woodblock prints around 1965. He is presently Professor of the Printmaking at Kyoto Seika University. He has exhibited widely and received many awards such as the Grand Prix at the Seoul International Print Biennale in 1983. Collections include Royal Gallery of paintings, The Netherlands; British Museum, London; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Museum of Modern Art, N.Y.; National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. Exhibitions include Maastricht International Print Biennial, The Netherlands: Egyptian International Print Triennial (Prize): Ljubljana Internationla Biennial of Graphic Art, Slovenia.
